Popping in the Sun

Pretty purple flowers bright in the sun.

A bright sun brings out the popping colors in these wild flowers along a walking path.

Snakey Looking Sunrise

Picture of canals in Florida as the sun is rising.

On an early flight to Florida years ago, the sun was just starting to come up as we were flying over The Sunshine State. Looking out the window, as I am wont to do on a plane, it was pretty cool seeing the sun reflect along the canals of Florida.

Daffodil

Close-up of a daffodil

As the spring flower season begins to come to a close, let’s not forget one of the early bloomers, the simple daffodil. Nothing says the start of spring in some places as much as the daffodil.

Flowery Snack

A butterfly on some lilacs.

I don’t like others watching me eat, but this butterfly, or moth, or other general winged creature, didn’t seem to mind my intrusion.

Let Others Hold You Up

A person crowdsurfing at a concert.

Back in the day when I reviewed concerts, I had been to my share with great mosh pits and crowd surfing. The challenge was always being in the photo pit and not getting kicked in the head by said crowd surfers.

Sleepy Time

A big pig sleeping in a pen.

It was sleepy time!

I get jealous of animals that can just sleep, anywhere, with anyone around. I mean, sure, the pig, or maybe a hog, I never know the difference, is stuck in a cage, but they still just look so content catching some Zzzzzz’s.

Spring Tree Bloom

Spring blooms on a tree.

We are lucky enough to live near The Morton Arboretum in Illinois. Spring is an awesome time to live near a well-run arboretum, or heck, any type of tree or flower garden place.

Yup, tree blooms don’t last that long, but when they pop, they are awesome!

Turtle Togetherness

A group of box turtles on a piece of driftwood.

One of the places I used to love to take a walk was Cricket Creek around the Addison, Illinois area.

There was a lot of wildlife to be found, and on this day a group of box turtles were hanging out on some driftwood, as box turtles are want to do.

Morning Swim

Picture of a morning sunrise with ducks swimming in a pong.

On a slightly foggy morning at The Springbook Prairie Forest Preserve, ducks enjoy the sun rising on a new day.

Taking Flight

Picture of a blue heron flying out of the lake.

The Blue Heron looks like a clutzy kind of bird. Watch one long enough, though, and you will see that they are graceful creatures.
